Driving

By Anna, November 30, 2008 9:11 pm

I’m terribly frustrated with the way people drive. Since I get carsick when I become even the slightest bit distracted, I am forced to pay attention to everything going on outside the car. We had some of the worst traffic coming home from thanksgiving this year. People were perpetually tapping their brakes and slowing down at the most random things. There was an accident on the OPPOSITE side of the median that caused our side at least an hour of traffic. Everytime there were construction signs or areas, we would come to a stop and then start crawling even though no one was actually doing any construction.

I wish that we had a way to tell people to stop tapping their brakes CONSTANTLY. It would stop a little bit of the pointlessness that goes on on the road. Currently, we are 2 hours behind schedule and still 35 miles from home. Grrrr. It is sobering to see all the accidents and I hope everyone has gotten home safely.

On a lighter note, it was a wonderful weekend with my new family. We talked about sex more than any other time in my life…thank you Brittany and Shea :) I also really loved the hiking we did.

P.S. Jonny is NOT a rat…

A new view…

By Brian, November 18, 2008 1:23 pm

For along time, those of you that know me know that I don’t like Apple.  I don’t like their business model, or the way they make a couple of good products and then try to push out some crappy products for way to much, but they know people will buy it thanks to the Apple name and hype.  This is always something I have been extremely adamant about. But…I have come to a point where I realize arguing over pointless things and bashing Apples, and in part thier users I have hurt relationships, and stopped new ones from forming.  I will no longer avidly go against everything Apple. I will try to have an open mind about everything. However this does not mean I will be using an Mac anytime in the near future, nor will I for the most part recommend Apple products to my friends.  My goal is to recommend and support the best product I see fit for the individual.  This may be a Mac or Apple product, but more than likely not, I will always lean to the more versatility of hardware that has a choice. However I hope this will broaden my view, and when I make a recommendation not to buy the $99 Airport, and instead buy a 50 dollar, better equivalent, you will know I am not being biased I am trying to give you the best deal for what you need.  I am looking out for your best interest.

So my older sis got married yesterday.  It was a lot of fun.  She looked really beautiful, and he(her hubby) didn’t look half bad either.  So now all the Merritt kids are married, well…shes a Vosler now I guess.  I’m diving tonight, at the Sheradon I’ll make sure to get some pictures up soon.

My new G1

By Brian, October 26, 2008 12:10 pm

I got a T-Mobile G1 on friday, it is apretty awesome device. It runs the Android Software by Google, and I am really enjoying it. It runs really quickly on 3g and has a really smooth capacitive touchscreen. The thing I was most skeptical about was the keyboard, as I wanted a full touchscreen phone, but I tell you what the keyboard is awesome. I am posting this message from my phone, so hopefully many more post to follow in this same fasion.

DD-wrt plug

By Brian, October 20, 2008 9:54 am

I would like to take a moment to plug DD-WRT.  This is by far the best software on the market for wireless G routers.  By market I mean free, by the way.  It allows you way more control than the standard software on your router ever could. They make a range of versions to fit almost every router on the market.  You should go check them out.  DD-WRT
